Edward Hospital in Naperville, Ill., has proposed a $63.7 million expansion project, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
The expansion project calls for two additional floors to the hospital's west building. The floors would allow space for an additional 24 ICU beds, 36 medical/surgical beds for orthopedic patients, a physical therapy gym and more. The plans, however, would also take away 12 beds.
Edward Hospital submitted the proposal to the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board. Hospital officials hope to complete construction toward the end of 2013.
