CMS: Physicians Not Enrolled in Medicare or With Old Information Should Submit Initial Enrollment Form

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services have issued a notice advising physicians and healthcare providers who are not enrolled in Medicare or who have not updated their Medicare information since Nov. 2003 to complete an initial enrollment application, according to a release from the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

The notice covers the Internet-based Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System. CMS notes that an organization must be enrolled before an individual.
