CMS Improves Online Medicare Enrollment System

CMS has improved its online enrollment system, formally the Medicare Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System, to allow providers to see if they need to revalidate their data and digitally sign and certify their applications, according to an AHA News Now report.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act requires providers who enrolled in Medicare before March 25, 2011, to revalidate their enrollment by March 2015, but only after receiving a letter from their Medicare administrative contractor to do so.
