Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, N.C., will know next month if the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services has approved its application for a certificate of need for a $14 million expansion of its emergency department, according to a report by The Fayetteville Observer.
The expansion would add 12,500-square-feet to the existing ER and would increase the number of treatment areas from 15 to 24.
If approved, the expansion would be completed by fall 2016, according to the report.
