Clyde, N.C.-based Haywood Regional Medical Center and Sylva, N.C.-based WestCare Health System have selected Carolinas Healthcare System to manage the health system when the two hospitals integrate, according to a report in the Ashville Citizen-Times.
The selection of Carolinas comes a year after the two community hospitals agreed to integrate into a coordinated health system and to create more efficient long-term strategies, according to the report.
The final details regarding the management agreement and organizational structure will be developed in the next few months, and Carolinas will participate in the formation of the final integrated health system, according to the report.
No date has been set as to when the agreement will go into effect.
