California's Community Memorial Hospital Breaks Ground on New Facility

Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, Calif., has broken ground on a new, six-story hospital to be built next to its current facility, according to a news release by HBE, the builder of the facility.

The 250 bed facility will feature all private rooms, additional space for families and visitors and a healing garden. The facility has been designed to meet California's seismic standards and will also have an expanded emergency department, cardiac and neonatal spaces.

The new hospital is expected to open in 2015.
