Cadence Health has paid $75 million to acquire OAD Orthopaedics, a 23-physciian group formed as a result of the merger between Central DuPage Hospital and Delnor Health System in the western suburbs of Chicago, according to a Crain's Chicago Business report.
The deal includes an outpatient surgery center in Warrenville, Ill., and medical office buildings.
"Cadence is being aggressive in the marketplace and wants to be a real player," said Adam Lynch, vice president of Principle Valuation, in the report. "They want to be considered one of the top-tier health systems in the Chicagoland area and right now they have the capacity to do so."
