The number of adverse events putting hospital patients at risk of serious injury or death fell slightly in Minnesota last year, according to a report by the state's Department of Health.
The study, surveying hospital reports from Oct. 7, 2008 to Oct. 6, 2009, identified 301 adverse events compared with 312 the year before, a decrease of 3.5 percent.
Four patients died from these events, a lower number than in any previous year.
