Becker's is proud to recognize the rising stars in healthcare, focused on leaders with a diverse background from across the industry who are 40 years old or younger. We accepted nominations for this list and selected members based on their quick ascent within their organizations and drive to improve patient care.

Christopher Aguwa. Executive Vice President, Head of Growth and Business Development at Cityblock Health (New York City). In his role at Cityblock Health, a provider of advanced primary care services for underserved communities, Mr. Aguwa is a major contributor to the company's growth. He is responsible for the execution of value-based care arrangements with health plans, product development, business development and strategy.

Cameron Andrews. CEO and Founder of Sirona Medical (San Francisco). Mr. Andrews has a background in the radiology business and practice. Sirona Medical is a healthcare technology company building the first and only unified radiology IT platform. His responsibilities include leading Sirona’s fundraising efforts, driving product development and assembling a workspace team. Mr. Andrews was recognized in the Forbes’ 2021 Class of 30 under 30 in healthcare.

Vidya Ayyr. Director of Community Social Impact at Parkland Health (Dallas, Texas). Ms. Ayyr drives an integrated approach to population health management at Parkland Health. She created initiatives such as the Patient Family Advisory Council, the Parkland Speaker Bureau, and a centralized Community Health Worker to give patients a voice in hospital planning, encourage awareness, educate, inspire and motivate families throughout the community, and improve the health equity of the surrounding vulnerable communities.

Troy Bannister. Co-Founder and CEO at Particle Health (New York City). Through the founding of Particle Health, Mr. Bannister is helping to provide easier access to healthcare data for key players in the digital health world. His role involves formulating the company's mission and leading growth and product strategy. Mr. Bannister'sbackground in the healthcare industry informed him of the great need for data aggregation and accessibility. To date, Particle Health has been able to amass the medical records of over 270 million patients throughout the United States.

Meg Barron. Vice President, Digital Health Innovations for the American Medical Association (Chicago). In her position, Ms. Barron makes technology an asset and not a burden for patients, physicians and the healthcare industry. She led partnerships such as the AMA Healthier Nation Innovation Challenge and the establishment of the AMA Interaction Studio at MATTER. For her innovative approach and accomplishments, she sits on the MassChallenge HealthTech Board of Advisors.

Ashley-Kay Basile, PhD. Chief Product Officer at Diameter Health (Farmington, Conn.). Dr. Basile acts as the driving force behind Diameter Health's short-term and long-term strategy. Her passion for leveraging data to transform the healthcare industry contributed greatly to the success of Diameter's Health's rebranding effort, which ultimately sharpened its positioning in the market. Notably, she was instrumental in the creation of the organization's differentiated value proposition, a process which turns inconsistent and non-standard clinical data into clear and precise data sets. Dr. Basile is also a three-time recipient of the Harvard University Derek Bok Center Certificate of Distinction in Teaching.

Bert Beard. Market CEO at Maria Parham Health and Person Memorial Hospital (Henderson, N.C.). Mr. Beard oversees day-to-day operations, strategy, and growth for a regional system of healthcare providers that serves patients in northern North Carolina and Southern Virginia. He manages almost 1,000 employees and much organizational growth for Maria Parham including a freestanding emergency department, imaging and diagnostic services and an expanded behavioral health unit.

Deric Blattenberger. General Manager of Senior Care for CenTrak (Newtown, Pa.). Mr. Blattenberger has served as the general manager of senior care for CenTrak since 2016. In this role, he oversees and guides the global strategy and management of the franchise portfolio while also leading the division’s ongoing strategy, execution and overall performance. He also focuses on market positions, developing a strategic roadmap and driving multi-year product plans. He previously served as the vice president of technology at Status Solutions.

Claire Boogaard, MD. Medical Director of Pediatric Health Network at Children's National Hospital (Washington, D.C.). Dr. Boogaard dedicates her work to ensure healthy development and quality health care for children in Washington, D.C.’s Ward 8. She has a passion for ensuring equitable healthcare within communities. When COVID-19 vaccines first became available to adolescents, Dr. Boogaard stepped up and took on the role of medical director of the COVID-19 Vaccine Program for Children’s National Hospital. Her efforts helped administer more than 27,000 doses to over 16,00 individuals in the community.

Tiffany Borne Jones. Director of Operations and Finance, Comprehensive Cancer Center at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist (Winston-Salem, N.C.). Beginning in October 2021, Ms. Jones has been responsible for the overall administration and coordination of finance operations and long-range operational strategy for Atrium Health's oncology service line clinics and programs. She specializes in identifying opportunities to reduce expenses, generate revenue, and optimize processes. She is continuously growing and taking on new responsibilities for the company, including tackling day-to-day revenue cycle operations for the Oncology Service Line.

Denise Bowen. Vice President of HR Strategies and Solutions of Providence (Renton, Wash.). Ms. Bowen has served as vice president of HR strategies and solutions for Providence since 2021. Her responsibilities include developing people strategies for 120,000 caregivers. Prior to this role, she served as the executive director of strategic implementation and then as chief of staff for the HR department.

Brandon "Kit" Bredimus, DNP, RN, BSN. Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Midland Health (Midland, Texas). Since his promotion to chief nursing officer in 2019, Dr. Bredimus has overseen the practice of nursing within Midland Memorial Hospital and the Midland Health System. He institutes a service-oriented approach to ensure that efficient services are designed and implemented to meet the needs of patients, medical providers, the public and employees. He takes ownership of finance, knowledge management, workforce and cultural engagement within the health system, which includes managing a $121 million budget and executing short- and long-term planning. After masterfully overcoming a series of challenges at the beginning of his tenure in the role, including a rooftop fire, a mass shooting, and the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Bredimus has become a role model and leadership example among those in the nursing industry.

Jaime Bremerkamp. Chief of Compliance and Risk at Anderson Healthcare (Maryville, Ill.). At Anderson Healthcare, Ms. Bremerkamp is accountable for legal, compliance, and risk management throughout the system's various hospitals, providers, and centers. During her time at the organization, she has entirely redesigned and improved the risk management and compliance programs, while introducing a software program that better utilizes data analytics. She also serves on the leadership board and as the Heartland Region Advocacy Chair for the Arthritis Foundation.

Rob Bressler. Senior Vice President and General Manager, Virtual Primary Care at Teladoc Health (Purchase, N.Y.). Mr. Bressler utilizes his extensive experience in go-to-market strategy and business development to oversee the development and direction of the organization’s primary care solution, "Primary360." The solution provides consumers with an updated relationship to the traditional primary care model by providing patients with convenient, tailor-made care plans. Primary360 was named a 2022 CIO 100 award winner for technology achievements.

Alexis Burnett, BSN, RN. Division Vice President of Surgical Services at Medical City Healthcare (Dallas). Since first joining the Medical City Healthcare system as a bedside nurse in 2011, Ms. Burnett's natural leadership skills quickly earned multiple promotions with increasing responsibilities. The main objectives of her current role are to craft an infrastructure that encourages growth in healthcare services for North Texans, boost staffing and operational efficiencies, deliver exceptional clinical quality, and build financial resiliency. Ms. Burnett also acts as a mentor for the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and coaches a community youth soccer team with her husband.

Kevin Bush Jr., EdD. Enterprise Director of Shared Services at Emory Healthcare (Atlanta). Dr. Bush leads efforts to support perioperative processes across Emory Healthcare. He leads sterile processing initiatives, designs and implements programs to increase clinical case volume and supports operating room efficiency initiatives. Dr. Bush has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare management and spent time at The Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland Medical Center and Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center before joining Emory.

Ashish Buttan. Vice President of Physician Partnerships and Executive Director Neurological Institute and Behavioral Health Institute at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Mr. Buttan has more than 12 years of experience in academic medicine, including as administrative director of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. He is now the vice president of physician partnerships and executive director of the neurological and behavioral health institutes at CHLA, where he manages provider service agreements and contracts between the hospital and medical group.

Diana Candelejo. Assistant Vice President of Economic Inclusion at RWJBarnabas Health (West Orange, N.J.). Ms. Candelejo has served as the assistant vice president of economic inclusion at RWJBarnabas Health since 2021. She ensures that the system is adapting to new realities within healthcare and incorporating the initiatives. Prior to this role, Ms Candelejo served as the director of anchor strategy, social impact and community investment.

Ashley Carlucci, MSN, RN. East and West Market Chief Nursing Officer for University Hospitals (Cleveland). Ms. Carlucci is responsible and accountable for the overall delivery and management of nursing operations, professional practice, education, professional development, and clinical services for 12 community hospitals in the East and West Markets of the University Hospitals Health System. She helped UH Conneaut and UH Geneva medical centers achieve the highest 5-star quality designation for the past five years and maintain nationally recognized 90th percentile patient satisfaction scores. UH is named one of Ethisphere’s 2021 World's Most Ethical Companies.

Courtney Cassella, MD. Reading Hospital Emergency Departments Residency Ultrasound Director and Core Faculty at Reading Hospital - Tower Health (West Reading, Pa). Dr. Cassella serves as a core faculty member and residency ultrasound director at Reading Hospital. The EM residency program currently has 29 residents enrolled. In this role, she is solely responsible to educate attending physicians and residents to perform bedside ultrasounds in the emergency department setting. Her hospital was named among Healthgrade’s America’s 50 Best Hospitals award this year.

Deanna Charles. Senior Vice President, Chief Ambulatory and Transformation Officer at Bassett Healthcare Network (Cooperstown, N.Y.). Ms. Charles is part of Bassett Healthcare Network’s executive leadership team and is responsible for all ambulatory operations. In addition, she leads strategic planning to aid the organization’s continuous growth and development. She also acts as Basset lead for access to Optum.

Kelli Clifton Ogunsanya. Chief Operating Officer at Delta Dental of Colorado (Denver). In her role at Delta Dental of Colorado, Ms. Ogunsanya is responsible for the company's operational excellence and digital transformation strategy. Utilizing a people-first leadership method, she manages more than 65 percent of the organization. She is also a published author, an adjunct professor, HHS chair for the Denver chapter of The Links, and board member for the Center for African American Health. Beginning in her teen years as a pharmacy technician and Research Assistant, Ms. Ogunsanya has built experience in the intersection of technology and public health and now uses her leadership roles to bring meaningful change to the healthcare industry.

Megan Cody. Business Manager of Atrium Heath’s Levine Children’s Hospital and Jeff Gordon Children’s Center (Charlotte, N.C.). Ms. Cody has served as the business manager of Atrium Heath’s Levine Children’s Hospital and Jeff Gordon Children’s Center since 2016. She oversees the labor management process including assisting department managers with position justifications and overall project management. Prior to this role, Ms. Cody served as the management associate II and senior human resources associate of Atrium Health.

Jennifer Cohen. Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Aspen RxHealth (Tampa, Fla.). Ms. Cohen owns the overall brand, positioning, and growth efforts at Aspen RxHealth. Her main objectives include driving client acquisition in fresh and innovative ways, expanding existing clients, and growing the company's nationwide pharmacist community. Since joining the leadership team in 2020, she has helped drive the company's increase in year-over-year revenue growth and 100 percent client retention rate. Her hard work has resulted in many honors, including her invitation to become a member of Chief, a prestigious private network for women leaders.

Sarah Cooper. Vice President of External Affairs and Operations Rady Children’s Hospital Foundation (San Diego). Ms. Cooper oversees a department with a budget oversight of $15 million. She is instrumental in managing funds and reducing administrative burdens across the hospital. Her operations manual helped to streamline the onboarding process with the rapid growth of the department and ensure future success.

Laura Dannels, PhD, MBA, SHIRM. Chief Talent Officer of Wellstar Health System (Marietta, Ga.). Ms. Dannels is the go-to person at Wellstar to lead organizational change to positively impact employees’ lives. She led multiple initiatives to make Wellstar one of Fortune's 2022 Best Companies to Work For including, new training, onboarding, and employee support systems.

Brandon Darrington. Director of Strategic Access Operations for University Hospitals (Cleveland). In his position, Mr. Darrington guides University Hospitals’ consumer and access agenda, which incorporates most of the patient’s journey from scheduling all the way to completing their point-of-service care. In his eight years of healthcare experience, he has completed over $13 million in capital improvement projects and guided access improvement initiatives that provide good services without placing an additional burden on the health system, all while improving caregiver and patient engagement scores. In part due to his efforts, UH Cleveland Medical Center was ranked among the nation’s Best Hospitals in seven adult specialties by U.S. News & World Report.

Gerald Davis II, DDS. Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs at Meharry Medical College’s School of Dentistry for Meharry Medical College (Nashville, Tenn.). Dr. Davis helps to oversee the entire academic program for the School of Dentistry at Meharry Medical College. His role is to develop and implement a curriculum to produce the next generation of great dental professionals. His work at Meharry has had widespread impacts: 83 percent of Meharry Alumni dentists serve in underserved areas. His work ensures equitable access to important dental care across the country.

William Davis. CEO for Crossroads Community Hospital (Brentwood, Tenn.). As the CEO of Crossroads Community Hospital, Mr. Davis is a rising star in healthcare. He provides administrative and executive direction for the overall operation of the hospital, consistent with the policies and priorities of the hospital and its board. He developed a COVID-19 Drive Up Testing location to make testing easy and convenient for patients. He also launched a "Kudos" recognition program to help recognize team members that have gone above and beyond to help patients or team members. He has been instrumental in bringing in five new specialists and expanding the primary care footprint to continue Crossroads Community Hospital’s growth and caring for its community.

Guillaume de Zwirek. CEO and Founder of Artera, formerly WELL Health (Santa Barbara, Calif.). Mr. de Zwirek founded Artera, formerly WELL Health, in 2015. He is responsible for the company’s growth and overall strategic direction. Prior to this, he worked in publishing and performance marketing at Graphiq as well as product marketing at Google.

Sam Diederich. Senior Vice President of Strategy and Product at Apixio (San Mateo, Calif.). Mr. Diederich has more than a decade of experience in strategic management within the healthcare industry. Prior to this current role, he served as the senior vice president of payer market solutions at UnitedHealth Group. He has held roles in corporate strategy, product and growth. Mr. Diederich focuses on the impact of the company through artificial intelligence and advanced technology.

Jennifer Dines, MD. Vice President, Regulatory and Medical Affairs at Scipher Medicine (Waltham, Mass.). Dr. Dines aspires to harness the full potential of novel technologies and deliver the promise of precision medicine toward improving the lives of patients suffering from autoimmune conditions. In a key partnership with Microsoft, She led the medical product development lifecycle from concept to post-market phases for Adaptive’s Immune Medicine Platform, which harnesses the immune system and pairs it with computational biology and machine learning to translate the diverse genetic code of the adaptive immune system into differentiated clinical products aimed at improving patient health. Scipher was recognized among the 2022 Best Tech Startups in Waltham by The Tech Tribune.

Tinamarie Estes-Washington, DNP, MSN, RN. Director of Nursing at Allegheny Health Network (Pittsburgh). In her role at Allegheny Health Network, Ms. Estes-Washington's main tasks include sharing best practices at national conferences, managing large scale projects, communicating the company vision to employees, leading evidence-based research, practicing financial stewardship, and monitoring operational effectiveness for her departments. Her leadership and positive demeanor were fundamental to the administration of an incredible 20,000 vaccine doses during the pandemic, during a time when mass vaccination clinics for COVID-19 were a newer concept and supplies were limited. Her work managing an outreach clinic also helped to provide vaccines for 227 underserved local residents.

Sahan Fernando. Chief Information Security Officer at Rady Children’s Hospital (San Diego). Mr. Fernando works tirelessly to keep Rady Children’s Hospital up-to-date with how it delivers healthcare and keeps its patients' data secure. He implemented hybrid and cloud technologies to improve these efforts and maintains a comprehensive information security program to protect the organization against current, future, internal and external threats.

Lukas Fischer. CEO of Linton (N.D.) Regional Medical Center. Mr. Fischer oversees the operations of Linton Regional, a critical access hospital that also includes an assisted living facility, three rural health clinics and a regional ambulance service. Under his leadership, Linton Regional has been named among the top 20 critical access hospitals multiple times by the National Rural Health Association. He spent time as the chief nursing officer and chief operating officer at Linton Regional before becoming the top leader of the hospital.

Robbie Freeman, RN. Vice President of Clinical Innovation and Chief Nursing Informatics Office at Mount Sinai Health System (New York). Mr. Freeman has served as the vice president and chief nursing informatics officer at Mount Sinai Health System since 2021. His responsibilities include, driving technology strategy to support nursing practice and patient care, leveraging different forms of technology, and overseeing clinical data science and digital engagement teams. He is also an assistant professor of health administration at New York University.

Harrison Frist. CEO of naviHealth (Brentwood, Tenn.). Mr. Frist has several years of experience within the business of healthcare. Prior to this role, he served as the vice president, general manager and COO of naviHealth. Mr. Frist provides strategic oversight of the company's operations and also is an advisor to Optum, which acquired naviHealth in 2020. He serves as the co-director of the Martha O’Bryan Center and sits on the board of trustees of the Andrew Jackson Foundation.

Rodney Gabriel, MD. Director of Perioperative Informatics, Division Chief of Regional Anesthesia and Clinical Director of Anesthesiology at the Koman Outpatient Pavilion Ambulatory Surgery Center, UC San Diego. Dr. Gabriel, a board-certified anesthesiologist with fellowship training in regional anesthesia and acute pain as well as biomedical informatics, holds various leadership positions at the University of California San Diego. He oversees the delivery of regional anesthesia and pain management across the UC San Diego health system, while upholding the school's prestigious clinical reputation. He is also a key player in research regarding the safe use of opioids and their therapeutic alternatives, as well as research on predictive modeling, AI, natural language processing on perioperative care and outcomes reporting.

Benjamin Galvan. Director of Infection Prevention at HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital. Mr. Galvan became director of infection prevention at HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital in October after spending nearly two years as an infection preventionist at Tampa General Hospital. He has a background in medical technology and clinical microbiology. At Tamap General, he assisted in creating and revising infection prevention and control standards, policies and procedures. He is also in charge of reviewing daily admission reports for appropriate patient placement, isolation orders and surveillance screening protocols.

Nicole George. Director of Nursing Center of Excellence at Press Ganey (South Bend, Ind.). Ms. George became the director of nursing center of excellence at Press GAney in July after spending more than five years in leadership roles at the American Nurses Association. She was responsible for managing the daily operations of the American Nurses Association's Magnet Recognition Program. She leads a team of 10 analysts and communicates daily with nursing leaders in domestic and international acute care organizations. Throughout her 13 years as a nurse, she has quickly stepped into leadership roles and demonstrated a positive growth mindset.

Ashul Govil, MD. Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer at Story Health (San Jose, Calif.). Dr. Govil co-founded Story Health in 2020 with the goal of combining virtual care and artificial intelligence with healthcare to bring specialist care into the homes of patients with heart disease and other complicated medical conditions. As chief medical officer, he is responsible for the supervision of medical and clinical facets of all products and services. He is also a practicing board-certified cardiologist and an advisor in health tech, medical devices, and pharma. He holds multiple leadership positions, and is a member of the American College of Cardiology.

Casey Guber. President and CEO at Rose Medical Center, CHA HealthONE (Greenwood Village, Colo.). Mr. Guber is the key driver in all facets of hospital performance, including patient safety, financial solidity, strategic planning, compliance to ethical standards, communications, and the recruitment of leaders. He serves on the Celiac Disease Foundation Board, Denver's Economic Development Council, the Executive Committee for the Denver Chamber of Excellence, and gives to the Guber Family Giving Fund.

Malaina Gusmann. Director of Patient Access at Rady Children's Hospital (San Diego). As the director of patient access, Ms. Gusmann is responsible for increasing access to care and improving the patient experience at Rady Children's. She has been instrumental in introducing important initiatives such as the Patient Access Representative Career Pathway Program and workflows to support the regulations of the No Surprises Act. These programs helped the hospital to achieve high-ranking employee engagement scores with an index of 99/100.

Shuhan He, MD. Faculty at the Department of Emergency Medicine and the Laboratory of Computer Science at Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston). Dr. He works at the intersection of computer science and emergency medicine to create open source and population level technology that benefits public health at large. His work focuses on understanding how universal, digital, and non-verbal methods of communication can allow non-speaking patients to transmit information to physicians. He has been featured in Nature, Discover Magazine and Popular Science for his contributions and inventions. Additionally, he founded ConductScience, a scientific-equipment distribution company.

Jeff Hignite. Executive Director, Corporate Development at Providence (Seattle). Mr. Hignite is responsible for the growth and development of ambulatory surgery across the Providence enterprise. In this role, he’s leading acquisitions and partnerships, development of strategic plans, and closely partnering with operations and shared services across the Providence ministries and Clinical Network. Prior to joining Providence, he worked at ECG Management Consultants serving provider and payer clients focusing on growth strategies. Throughout his career, he has been driven to create value and sustainability in the healthcare system and brokering positive payer/provider partnerships.

Etter Hoang. Senior Director of Analytics at Tampa General Hospital (Tampa, Fla.). Mr. Hoang manages the enterprise analytics team which supports data architecture, data governance, analytics education, and an emerging bioinformatics and clinical research team. Mr. Hoang led his team when COVID-19 demanded up-to-date, data-driven decisions. He and his team worked with IBM Watson to create a forecasting model to predict surges which proved accurate.

Lissy Hu, MD. Founder and CEO of CarePort Health (Boston). Since founding CarePort in 2012, Dr. Hu has worked with leading health systems, post-acute providers, physicians, health plans, and risk-bearing organizations to optimize care outcomes in the U.S. As CEO, her focus is on identifying opportunities to enhance and scale the company's care coordination platform, so that providers are empowered to better care for patients as they transition from the hospital to other care facilities or to their homes. Dr. Hu has grown the company from inception to a 200-teammate hub that connects more than 1,000 hospitals with over 130,000 post-acute providers. CarePort was acquired by WellSky in 2020, and the company has continued its pursuit of using real-time data and actionable insights to deliver quality care at affordable costs.

Michael A. Huempfner. Associate Administrator at Broward Health Imperial Point (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.). Mr. Huempfner is responsible for the supervision of the radiology lab, environmental services and transport and security departments. Key tasks include strategic planning, regulatory compliance and assisting with management of construction projects. He utilizes data from several departments to inform real-time optimization decisions, ultimately allowing the organization to function smoothly as a whole. He also serves on the Broward Health chief of operating officers council and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Professionals.

Vijay Jayaraman. Vice President of Strategy at Symplr (Houston). Mr. Jayaraman is responsible for Symplr's long-term strategic planning and execution, including the development of pricing and packaging initiatives, execution of the company's annual planning process, and implementation of strategic partnerships. His leadership has contributed to the success of several enterprise initiatives. In addition, he has acted as a mentor for early career employees throughout his career.

Sarah Johnson Conway, MD. Chief Medical Officer of Johns Hopkins Clinical Alliance and Senior Medical Director of Physician Alignment and Integration, Johns Hopkins Physicians (Baltimore). Dr. Johnson owns the oversight and management of all medical and clinical aspects of the Johns Hopkins Medicine clinically integrated network operations, and aims for high quality patient outcomes and fiscal performance of value-based care among providers and community partners. During her tenure at the health system, she has held various leadership roles with increasing responsibility and has proven more than capable of navigating and improving upon the complex health system. Among many other roles, Dr. Johnson is an assistant professor of medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and serves on the national public policy committee for the Society of Hospital Medicine.

Brian Jones. Director of Business Operations and Ancillary Services at University Hospitals – UH Meds (Cleveland). Mr. Jones drives the development, enactment, and assessment of business strategy in order to optimize both financial performance and patient outcomes. His work focuses on building processes and relationships that increase access to care. He also promoted the health system's vision, goals and strategies for future growth and guided the design and refinement of the health system's revenue model.

Brad Jordan. CEO of Select Specialty Hospital – The Villages (Mechanicsburg, Pa.). As CEO of the long-term acute care hospital, Mr. Jordan oversees business operations, patient satisfaction, employee engagement, patient safety, and more. Kimberly LaBree, DNP, ARNP. Assistant Administrator of Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center at Baptist Health (Jacksonville, Fla.). Her work primarily serves populations insured by Medicaid, and utilizes a virtual-first community care model that is helping to restructure treatment opportunities for underserved people with mental health illnesses. Ms. Lindow’s previous leadership experience includes the founding of Arrows and Keys, where she delivered executive consulting services to mission-based startups.

Arel Lidow. Co-Founder and Co-Chief Maker of Cedar (New York City). Mr. Lidow sets the strategic and technical direction for Cedar's product line and leads the team focused on engineering, product, design and data science. He co-founded Cedar in 2016 after first-hand experience navigating challenges associated with hospital billing errors and issues. His team led the inception and development of Cedar Pre, a new solution offering patients a concierge experience before care starts. Chris McCann. CEO and Founder of Current Health (Boston). Mr. McCann founded Current Health in 2015 at 24 years old. Current Health was acquired by Best Buy for $400 million in November 2021. Before building Current Health, he was a medical student at the University of Dundee.

Mallary McKinney. Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer of UnityPoint Health (West Des Moines, Iowa.). Ms. McKinney has served as chief marketing and communications officer and senior vice president of UnityPoint Health since 2022. In her current role, she is responsible for the organization’s enterprisewide brand and communication strategy across nine regions in Iowa, western Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Adam M. Mayer. Executive Director, System Financial Operations at Medical University of South Carolina (Charleston, S.C.). Mr. Mayer oversees the financial operations for about $4.7 billion in net patient revenues and leads six health system teams such as decision support services and physician financial operations. He has successfully managed the significant growth of his team and remains a top-tier employee engagement leader. His efforts have helped the Medical University of South Carolina remain the top hospital in South Carolina for the 7th year in a row according to US News & World Report.

Richard Medford. Associate Chief Medical Informatics Officer at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (Dallas). Mr. Medford leads the strategic execution, development and optimization of the health system's digital health initiatives from an IT standpoint. Elena Mendez-Escobar, PhD. Executive Director of Strategy and the Health Equity Accelerator at Boston Medical Center (Boston). Dr. Mendez-Escobar ensures that health equity is always top-of-mind as the health system grows and develops new strategies. She helps combine research, patient insights, and clinical operations to address root causes of inequity and barriers to care. Her work has been instrumental in breaking through historic patterns of systemic discrimination and providing care to underserved populations. Elizabeth Mikula, MSN, RN, CPN, CPHQ. Division Vice President of Quality, HCA Healthcare (Richmond, Va.). Ms. Mikula manages quality and risk initiatives, clinical excellence and patient safety, infection prevention, ensuring regulatory compliance and readiness, and emergency preparedness functions for 19 hospitals across four states. Under her tutelage, 17 of 18 eligible hospitals received an A on their Spring 2022 Leapfrog Patient Safety Score.

Evelyn Nicole Mitchell, MD. Clinical Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology; Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion of Obstetrics and Gynecology; and Obstetrician-Gynecologist with Keck Medicine of USC (Los Angeles). Dr. Mitchell served as the faculty chair of the USC diversity and inclusion committee before taking on her current role. Her responsibilities include leading anti-bias training for departments throughout the health systems and departments. She also works to increase the recruitment and retention of underrepresented providers and addresses healthcare disparities in her field. Dr. Mitchell now has conducted more than 20 anti-bias training for Keck Medicine. In 2021, she received a C.A.P.E. award with the Los Angeles County Advocate for the Pursuit of Excellence.

Lucy Muller. Executive Director of Human Resources, Education and Volunteer Services at McAlester Regional Health Center (McAlester, Okla.). Ms. Muller handles all human resources efforts at the McAlester Regional Health Center, including recruitment, recognition, benefit administration, retention, and more. She also oversees the education of both employees and students, and supervises the volunteer program. Her outstanding work has led to an increase in nurse recruitment, the reformation of the employee education department, and the success of the cultural ambassador program, which recognizes and empowers frontline workers. Ms. Muller also serves as co-chair on the Leadership McAlester Committee, board member on The Southern Workforce Board of Oklahoma, and a committee member of Pink Ribbon McAlester.

Caroline Njau. Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer of Children's Minnesota (Minneapolis, Minn.). Ms. Njau leads care operations at the two largest pediatric hospitals in Minnesota in addition to nursing strategy, education and professional development. She produced effective short-term tactics to deal with an increase in TSV and COVID-19 cases in children. She also empowered her team to adopt a forecasting model for volumes and staffing that’s 95 percent accurate and increased the lead time for staffing actions from 4-8 hours to 48-72 hours.

Nicole O'Malley. Vice President of Regional Marketing and Communications of Ochsner Health (New Orleans). Ms. O'Malley led her department through the novel coronavirus pandemic by interpreting and disseminating critical information about testing and vaccination sites and masking guidelines for the local community. Her team placed more than 25,000 news stories about COVID-19 in 2021. During Hurricane Ida, Ms. O'Malley and her team provided 9,000 stories about the preparation of the system which helped the loved ones of patients know they were safe.

Kelli Ogunsanya. COO for Delta Dental of Colorado (Denver). Ms. Ogunsanya is responsible for all network management, provider relations, claims management, customer contact center, and PMO for DDCO. She oversees 65 percent of the organization. Ms. Ogunsanya managed her teams successfully through challenging obstacles including COVID-19 and IT conversions. She is a leader that many want to emulate and work for.

Will Patterson. Founder and CEO of CareRev (Los Angeles). Since 2015, Mr. Patterson has overseen CareRev’s growth, working with over 22,000 clinical professionals spanning 70-plus hospitals and health systems, and over 540 outpatient centers and skilled nursing facilities. Under his leadership, CareRev is helping healthcare facilities address their staffing shortages directly, through holistic staffing models that include full-time employees, contract labor for highly-specialized skill sets and local, part-time talent secured through CareRev. His work at CareRev helped the company win a place on Forbes' Best Startup List.

Nichole Perry. Hospital Services Administrator at DaVita (Denver). In her role at DaVita, Ms. Perry grows, fosters, and expands the acute dialysis programs within five Southern California hospitals that collectively treat over 700 patients per month. Thanks to her drive and dedication to growth, she was promoted to her current role after just five months as assistant hospital services administrator. Ms. Perry also acts as a Tri-City Mental Health Board Commissioner.

Richard Pineda. Vice President of Strategic Financial Planning and Analysis for Rady Children's Hospital (San Diego). Mr. Pineda partners with key leaders and managers to develop, plan and execute strategic initiatives for core institutes. Through this cross-functional work, he helped to expand community services with Rady Children's joint venture partners. Alicia Quaco. Director of Operations at Eastside Health Network (Bellevue, Wash.). Mr. Rush builds strategy and manages operational performance in his role at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He leads cross-functional teams over five medical centers and two ambulatory sites. His focus on strategic infrastructure planning has led to the expansion of available resources for the community. He also founded the nationally recognized pre-optimized care management program, which improves patient safety by helping manage co-morbidities before surgery. Ricky Sahu. Founder of 1upHealth (Boston). Mr. Sahu founded 1upHealth in 2017. His primary responsibility is to spearhead product growth, specifically in the areas of machine learning and artificial intelligence. Prior to founding 1upHealth, Mr. Sahy worked as the vice president of engineering for CareJourney, an engineer for Promediacorp and a program manager for Google.

Michael Schmidt. Assistant Vice President of Orlando (Fla.) Health Strategic innovations. In his position, Mr. Schmidt is leading the effort to accelerate innovation and commercialization across Orlando Health. Under his leadership, Orlando Health Strategic Innovations launched The Foundry, the organization's internal accelerator, to bring to life the ideas and inventions from the organization's most valuable resources. From apps and software to medical devices and surgical tools, the Orlando Health Foundry at the Center for Innovation develops a wide variety of products that are designed and tested within Orlando Health before being introduced to other healthcare organizations.

Manav Sevak. Co-founder and CEO of Memora Health (San Francisco). Mr. Sevak is a co-founder of Memora, a team that has tripled in size in the last year under his leadership. Forbes recognized him in their 30 Under 30 2022 list for Memora's ability to make care more actionable, accessible and always-on. The company’s system allows teams to efficiently serve patients and automate complex workflows.

Robin Shah. Co-founder and CEO of Thyme Care (Nashville, Tenn.). Mr. Shah co-founded Thyme Care in 2020 after becoming a founding member and chief commercial officer for OneOncology. At OneOncology, Mr. Shah led teams on development, marketing, strategy and analytics. He also served as vice president of provider marketing and strategy for Flatiron Health.

Matthew Simon. Director of Revenue Cycle at Stamford Health System (Stamford, Conn.). Mr. Simon is responsible for all front-end revenue cycle operations at Stamford Health System. The role focuses on the design and implementation of systems that will improve end-user experience and patient satisfaction. Nidhie Singh. Executive Director and Chief of Staff to the Southern California Chief Executive at Providence (Renton, Wash.). Mr. Stokes was a key player in guiding the company through its expansion over the years and has led the organization from zero to over 50,000 kidney patients over 11 states. He facilitated the growth of company headquarters and grew the employee base by over 600 percent in recent years. He also assisted with the implementation of predictive models for clinicians and secured partnerships with influential institutions, which helps provide improved care for patients.

Nehal Swami. Founder/ CEO of RealTime Clinic (Houston, Texas). Mr. Swami pioneered a novel way for hospitals and health plans to collect and integrate patient-reported outcomes into clinical workflow. Mr. Taneja oversees OSF Health Care's venture program, which invests financially and strategically in emerging solutions that have the potential to improve patient outcomes, enhance the patient experience or reduce the cost of healthcare. This includes managing $250 million in assets under management across three funds, a team with expertise in venture investments, business administration, healthcare and analytics, as well as a diverse set of portfolio companies. Trevor Theriot. Founder, CEO and President of ManaMed (Las Vegas). Armed with the knowledge that health is multifaceted and differs based on the individual, Mr. Theriot aims to provide products tailored to meet the specific needs of customers, patients, and institutions. As CEO and President of ManaMed, he leads the company in its mission to design and develop innovative, bespoke medical solutions. The company has developed a market-leading blood clot prevention device and manufactures over 70 products in the orthopedic bracing space.

Marisa Tranchina. Director of Content Strategy at Hackensack Meridian Health (Edison, N.J.). Ms. Tranchina works to guarantee that the organization’s social media, website and publication content is cohesive and supports the network’s overall strategy. During her time with the organization, she has utilized her communications skills to lead the entirety of the highly successful HealthU editorial brand and support the network’s COVID-19 Crisis Communications. Sergio Vincenti FACHE, Operations Executive Yolo & Solano Counties, Sutter Health (Sacramento, Calif.). Mr. Vincenti is accountable for leading the daily operations of 11 primary and specialty care locations across two counties for Sutter Health. His primary focus is to support and lead teams to achieve top decile performance in the areas of quality, clinician satisfaction, and staff engagement. He is an experienced healthcare executive with a successful record of developing and leading teams in large, multispecialty medical group environments. His career began in clinical trials in medical and radiation oncology and he has experience in both strategy and operations in large, integrated delivery systems. He received Fellow certification from the American College of Healthcare Executives in March 2022 and received the Regent’s Award for Early Career Healthcare Executive from the California Association of Healthcare Leaders.

Mini Virmani. System Director of Performance Improvement at Atrium Health (Charlotte, N.C.). Through her work at Atrium Health, Ms. Virmani aims to reduce disparities in healthcare.
