A new bill that allows patients with terminal and incurable diseases to access stem cell therapies passed through the Texas state legislature Monday and will now become law.
House Bill 810 is an expansion of the state's Right to Try laws, which give access to innovative medical procedures to patients with few traditional care options left. The bill received bipartisan support.
This legislation will work in concert with the 21st Century Cures Act, a law that allows the Food and Drug Administration to accelerate approval for regenerative medical treatments such as stem cells.
