More than 2,000 preserved fetuses found on property of dead physician

A physician who previously operated a women's health clinic in South Bend, Ind., died Sept. 3. His family found 2,246 medically preserved fetal remains while looking through his personal belongings, according to CNN.

Ulrich Klopfer, DO, operated a clinic that provided women's health services, including abortions, until his license was suspended in 2015. The fetal remains were found at his home in Will County, Ill., on Sept. 12, according to CNN.

Dr. Klopfer's family notified the Will County coroner's office of the discovery, and the coroner's office took the fetal remains.

There is no evidence medical procedures were performed at the physician's home, according to CNN.
