Missouri Senate Passes Bills for Health Navigator Qualifications

The Missouri State Senate has passed legislation that would make healthcare navigators undergo extra measures before being able to help people sign up for coverage, according to an Associated Press report via the Kansas City Star.

One bill would require navigators undergo criminal background checks before they become licensed. Another would require navigators to purchase a $100,000 bond in case they are sued for unlawfully sharing consumers' personal or financial information, according to the report.

Both bills are now headed to the House of Representatives.
