A former Medicaid biller for a Denver-based durable medical equipment company is accused of submitting $1.2 million in false claims to the state of Colorado.
Natasha Sawyer, 44, of Denver, is accused of submitting false claims for enteral formula from May 2020 to March 2021, according to an Aug. 14 news release from the Colorado Attorney General's office.
The office alleges that while Ms. Sawyer billed for millions of calories of formula, only about 5% of the product billed to Medicaid was actually delivered to patients.
