Judge Dismisses Monopolization Allegations Against Sutter Health

Claims that Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health has engaged in monopolistic activities have been dismissed by a federal judge, according to a Lexology report.

In September 2012, a class action lawsuit filed against Sutter Health claimed exclusive contracts between Sutter and various health plans required the plans to use Sutter facilities or affiliated physicians and to penalize plan members who went elsewhere, according to the report.

The judge dismissed the allegations due to a lack of factual support, according to the report.
