Former Idaho health system worker to pay nearly $1.5M in restitution for wire fraud

A former office worker at Boise, Idaho-based Saint Alphonsus Health System will pay at least $1,483,963.82 in restitution for defrauding the health system, according to the U.S. Justice Department.

Lois Soito, 60, who worked in accounts receivable 22 years at Saint Alphonsus, pleaded guilty Nov. 13 to keeping cash collected at health system fundraisers and writing checks to herself from the health system's bank account.

Making restitution was part of her guilty plea to wire fraud. She's scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 21.
