Former Hospital for Special Surgery CEO Sentenced to 18 Months in Kickback Case

John R. Reynolds, the former CEO of the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for his participation in a decade-long kickback scheme, according to a Bloomberg report.

Mr. Reynolds was arrested in 2012 for allegedly accepting almost $300,000 in payments from a subordinate hospital employee between 1996 and 2007 in exchange for negotiating payment of that employee's annual bonus. He was also accused of making false statements to law enforcement officers and concealing evidence. Mr. Reynolds pled guilty to the charges in July.
