Former CDC director arrested on sexual misconduct allegations

Tom Frieden, MD, former director of the CDC, was arrested Aug. 24 on allegations of forcible touching, sex abuse and harassment, according to CNBC.

Dr. Frieden was arrested on those charges after a woman filed a complaint against him in July, accusing him of grabbing her buttocks against her will in October 2017, according to Reuters.

Dr. Frieden was director of the CDC between 2009 and 2017. He was also previously New York City health commissioner between 2002 and 2009. He now serves as president and CEO of Resolve to Save Lives, a global health nonprofit.
