California authorities are currently investigating whether Marcy Gallagher’s move from supervising attorney at the California Department of Managed Health Care to a regulatory response unit within Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente violated state laws, according to a Los Angeles Times report.
The investigation follows a complaint by a health worker’s union, alleging her move violates state laws prohibiting former officials from accepting private-sector positions on the opposing side of the issue they worked on for the government. As a state regulator, Ms. Gallagher worked on several investigations into Kaiser’s practices, according to the report.
A Kaiser spokesperson denied any wrongdoing.
