A federal jury in the Northern District of Texas has convicted Joseph Megwa, MD, for his participation in a $3 million Medical fraud scheme, according to the Department of Justice.
Dr. Megwa was convicted of receiving kickbacks for falsely certifying patients needed home health services and submitting false claims to Medicare for home visits to patients he never made.
Dr. Megwa was convicted of one count of conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud and three counts of healthcare fraud.
