A cardiac monitoring company has agreed to pay $673,200 to settle allegations it submitted false claims to federal healthcare programs.
IronRod Health and Cardiac Monitoring Services allegedly used technicians who lacked required credentials to conduct remote cardiac monitoring readings, according to a Feb. 3 Justice Department news release. The alleged misconduct occurred between Jan. 1, 2018, and April 30, 2021.
The company also allegedly misrepresented that it performed services in New York state to obtain higher Medicare reimbursement for remote cardiac monitoring services, according to the release. The alleged misconduct occurred between June. 1, 2018, and Aug. 20, 2018.
