Audit: Arkansas' Medicaid Program Paid $1.36M to Ineligible Recipients

An audit has found that Arkansas' Medicaid program erroneously distributed $1.36 million in payments to ineligible recipients since 2009, according to an Associated Press/Arkansas Online report.

Last week, the Arkansas Division of Legislative Audit said the error rate among recipients tested for eligibility increased from 3.2 percent in 2011 to 14 percent in 2012, according to the report. The state Department of Human Services said that increases represents a change in the types of recipients legislative auditors tested, according to the report.

Arkansas Business has published a pdf of the audit, which can be viewed here.
