New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez has filed a lawsuit against the Yankees' team physician and New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, contending he was improperly cleared to continue playing, according to an ABC News report.
The suit claims an MRI performed on Mr. Rodriguez Oct. 11, 2012, revealed an injured hip joint, an injury New York-Presbyterian physician Christopher Ahmad, MD, did not mention to Mr. Rodriguez, according to the report. Dr. Ahmad, who also serves as the Yankees team physician, then cleared Mr. Rodriguez to play, allegedly resulting in further injury.
New York-Presbyterian declined to comment on the pending litigation, according to the report.
