Four medical staffing and services companies agreed to pay $475,000 to settle allegations they submitted false claims to Medicare.
Medicom Management Services, Medexcel USA, Medexcel Emergency Physician Services of Yonkers and Tri-State Emergency Physicians admitted to submitting false claims using the names and identifying information of physicians who did not perform or supervise the medical services claimed, according to a July 27 Justice Department news release. In many of the cases, the physicians were no longer employed by the companies.
The fraudulent claims were submitted between 2007 and 2017, according to the release.
