Twelve people working in home healthcare have been charged in an $87 million Medicaid fraud scheme in Pennsylvania.
The 12 are accused of participating in dozens of fraudulent acts, including making false claims for services that were never provided, creating fake employees, improperly using consumers personal information and falsifying documents for audits in an effort to defraud the Pennsylvania Medicaid program.
In some instances, the indictment alleges that the defendants were working at other jobs or submitted Medicaid claims for patients who were hospitalized, incarcerated or deceased.
The defendants, Arlinda Moriarty, Daynelle Dickens, Julie Wilson, Tamika Adams, Tony Brown, Terry Adams, Terra Dean, Tionne Street, Keith Scoggins, Larita Walls, Tia Collins and Luis Columbie-Abrew, all have been charged with conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud.
Four individuals — Ms. Moriarty, Ms. Dickens, Ms. Wilson and Ms. Tamika Adams — also have been charged with one count of concealing material facts, and three individuals — Ms. Moriarty, Ms. Adams, and Mr. Columbie-Abrew — also were charged with aggravated identity theft.
