Wetzel County Hospital Eliminates Jobs, Cuts Hours

Wetzel County Hospital in New Martinsville, W.Va., is cutting eight jobs and reducing the hours of 15 employees, according to a WTRF report.

The hospital, which has 48 staffed beds according to the American Hospital Directory, is also leaving empty positions vacant as part of its workforce reduction. "Wetzel County Hospital must adjust its operations to become more efficient while maintaining our goal of providing excellent patient care," CEO Brian Felici told WTRF.

Hospital utilization is down, according to the report, and the hospital has been affected by new Medicare payment policies.
