Tilden Community Hospital Could Close Inpatient Services

Tilden (Neb.) Community Hospital may stop offering inpatient services and transition to become an outpatient-only care facility, according to a Norfolk Daily News report.

The hospital's board of directors sent a recommendation to the city council to close inpatient services effective July 1. Tilden Community Hospital is owned by the city.

The critical access hospital has been operating at a loss of as much as $60,000 each month, according to the report. Changing community demographics and inpatient admission criteria also factored into the decision.

The city council is meeting Tuesday and will discus the recommendation then, according to the report.
