Palm Drive Hospital in Sebastopol, Calif., has laid off or reduced work hours for 40 employees, according to a Press Democrat report.
The workforce changes will equate to the loss of 20 full-time positions, including eight nurses, according to the report. Palm Drive employs about 267.
Hospital nurses learned of the layoff plan last week, along with a plan to reduce the size of the hospital from 37 inpatient beds to 14, according to the report.
