Good Shepherd Health System Lays Off 24

As part of a series of cost-cutting moves, Longview, Texas-based Good Shepherd Health System has eliminated 24 jobs, according to a Longview News-Journal report.

The layoffs announcement comes just a week after the system announced plans to close Good Shepherd Medical Center Linden (Texas) and two health centers, affecting 100 employees.

This round of cuts affected people in administrative, management, supervisory, clinical and nonclinical positions from throughout the system, according to the report.

Good Shepherd's changes are part of a "two-year journey to improve our operations, financial performance and community engagement," CEO Steve Altmiller told the LNJ.
