Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic is entering a know-how agreement with virtual rheumatology clinic Remission Medical.
Remission Medical provides virtual treatment for rheumatological conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, lupus and gout. The partnership with Mayo will focus on reducing diagnosis and treatment time, according to a June 1 Remission Medical news release.
Additionally, the partnership will allow some patients to receive virtual care with Remission between in-person visits with Mayo clinicians.
"Remission Medical's mission is to both improve access to care and improve the care overall for rheumatology patients across the spectrum from onset to – as our name implies – remission," Blake Wehman, founder and CEO of Remission Medical, said in the news release. "Through our collaboration with Mayo Clinic, we seek to reduce the average time to treatment initiation for this chronic disease, which can stretch to weeks to months in America."
