Mayo, Atrium + more building new innovation hubs

Here are three new healthcare innovation hubs being built:

1. The Center for Health Affairs, a Northern Ohio regional hospital association, is partnering with Amazon Web Services to launch a social determinants of health innovation hub in Cleveland.

2. Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic plans to start building a 120-acre innovation hub soon at its Arizona campus. Mayo Clinic submitted a zoning application with the city of Phoenix to construct the 3.3-million-square-foot medical and research center adjacent to its hospital there.

3. Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health, now a part of Charlotte-based Advocate Health, joined forces with Wexford Science and Technology to break ground on Wake Forest University School of Medicine Charlotte and the surrounding innovation district, known as "the Pearl." The innovation hub will feature research space, retail locations, corporate headquarters, apartments and open community space.
