Indianapolis-based Riley Hospital for Children is preparing for a rise in respiratory syncytial virus cases by adjusting visitation policies and expanding its pediatric intensive care unit, WishTV reported Oct. 5.
Visitor restrictions went into effect Oct. 4 and include up to two visitors per patient and no visitors under 18, including patient siblings.
The move comes as pediatric hospitals across the nation are experiencing capacity issues with an uptick in respiratory illnesses.
