Flu cases are increasing steadily while antiviral prescriptions increase only slightly, according to the latest CDC data.
According to data gathered through ILINet, 2.9% of patient visits to a healthcare provider during the week of Nov. 4 were for respiratory illness. Hospitalizations have also increased, with 1,962 patients admitted the same week.
Fill rates for the popular flu prescription drug Tamiflu saw a 0.08% increase over the same period, based on the latest GoodRx data, while Pfizer's antiviral Paxlovid saw a 0.08% decline. Oral solution antibiotics had a 1.32% increase, following a steep upward trend of prescriptions.
