Healthcare workers at three Bakersfield, Calif.-based outpatient clinics operated by the Dignity Health Medical Foundation voted to unionize.
With the vote, 40 workers will join the Service Employees International Union-United Healthcare Workers West, according to a union news release. Workers include medical assistants, technologists and medical office representatives.
They join about 1,600 other healthcare workers in Bakersfield as SEIU-UHW members.
