Registered nurses planned to picket Aug. 25, calling for the Department of Veterans Affairs to move forward with stalled negotiations, National Nurses United said.
The union said nurses would speak on behalf of the 11,000 RNs affiliated with National Nurses United at 23 VA facilities in 12 states. They said nurses are voicing concerns on patient care issues, including chronic short staffing and the recruitment and retention of experienced nurses.
The picket was scheduled to take place in front of VA headquarters in Washington, D.C.
