A contract between Lansing, Mich.-based Sparrow Hospital and the Professional Employee Council of Sparrow Hospital/Michigan Nurses Association is official.
The agreement, which covers 2,300 registered nurses and health professionals at Sparrow, "improves RN staffing, strengthens safety measures at the hospital and preserves essential healthcare for workers," the union said in a statement. It is retroactive to Oct. 31, 2017, and runs three years.
The previous contract expired Oct. 30, 2017, and both sides reached a tentative agreement Dec. 21, 2017. The new contract was ratified earlier this month.
