Nurses at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, N.Y., have ratified a new contract with hospital management, according to the New York State Nurses Association.
The new contract, which replaces one that expired almost three years ago, will run through the end of 2020.
It includes the creation of a nurse resource team to address staffing, as well as a wage increase of more than 8.5 percent and healthcare and pension changes, the union said. The hospital said no staffing increases were asked for or required as part of this new contract.
This agreement follows a contract ratification at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, N.Y., and St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, N.Y. Nathan Littauer, Samaritan and St. Elizabeth have all averted a nurse strike by reaching agreements with the NYSNA.
