A union representing approximately 300 registered nurses at Kenmore Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y., ratified a new three-year contract agreement with management, according to a Buffalo Business First report.
The nurses are represented by Communications Workers of America Local 1133.
Under the agreement, which drew support from about 90 percent of the hospital's nurses, workers will receive retroactive pay raises, annual wage increases between 1 percent and 3 percent and $155 million in pension fund contributions during the contract term, among other provisions, according to the report.
As part of the agreement, nurses also will pay increased copays for certain services adhere to a new dress code next year, the report states.
The nurses reached a tentative deal earlier in February. The new deal is expected to expire in June 2020, according to Buffalo Business First.
