Chase Brexton employees approve first labor deal: 4 things to know

Unionized employees at Baltimore-based Chase Brexton Health Care ratified their first contract agreement with management Feb. 26, according to The Baltimore Sun.

Here are four things to know.

1. The contract covers about 135 professional employees represented by 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East.

2. It includes pay increases and a new scheduling system, according to The Baltimore Sun.

3. The publication states the contract also includes establishing a committee of staff and management, which is designed to address staff concerns and discuss Chase Brexton's challenges.

4. The ratification vote comes about two years after the employees unionized to increase their influence on issues such as staffing and patient care, according to the report.
