Sierra View District Hospital in Portersville, Calif., laid off 49 employees Thursday, according to a report by The Fresno Bee.
The layoffs were made necessary by lower revenues and patient volume, according to the report. The hospital employs about 965 people.
The affected employees were offered a severance package and placed on a call-back list, according to the report.
