Shore Health System in Easton, Md., is laying off 48 employees effective July 1, according to a Star Democrat report.
Ninety percent of the layoffs were from clerical, clinical and support positions and 10 percent were from management positions, according to the report. Additionally, Shore Health cut 52 full-time equivalent vacant positions and reduced or consolidated some services.
All of the changes are part of budget cuts made necessary by an increase in inflation and supply and services costs, as well as rate reductions, according to the report.
