Unionized registered nurses at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett (Wash.) have ratified a three-year labor deal with the hospital, reports the Herald Business Journal.
The contract agreement covers 1,600 RNs at PRMC Everett, which is part of Renton, Wash.-based Providence Health and Services. It includes a 7.5 to 8 percent overall wage increase over the life of the deal, as well as continuing the 2.5 percent annual step increases for nurses, according to hospital officials. It also gives nurses a significant ratification bonus and other premium increases such as charge pay and float premium.
Additionally, the nurses, who are represented by the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 21, will have a specified way to notify supervisors of staffing concerns as part of the agreement, the report states.
Both sides have been negotiating a new contract for approximately eight months.
