Management at financially beleaguered Palm Drive Hospital in Sebastopol, Calif., held meetings last week notifying employees of possible layoffs, according to a report by The Press Democrat.
The layoff warnings come roughly two months after a round of layoffs at the hospital that affected 40 employees. This round will affect at least 50 employees, according to the report.
The workforce reductions stem from Pam Drive Hospital's financial issues: It has lost about $1.02 million this fiscal year, which ends in July, according to the report. The hospital is licensed for 37 beds but is only staffed for 14.
