Louisville-based KentuckyOne Health has issued layoff notices to employees, according to a WDRB report.
The announcement did not specify how many workers will be laid off, but did say the workforce reduction will be complete by the end of the month, according to the report. The two-year-old system has roughly 15,000 employees.
"We are working to support the individuals impacted and to provide them with the resources they need during their transition, including severance based on length of service and other individual factors," a spokesperson said in a statement to WDRB.
KentuckyOne President and CEO Ruth Brinkley warned of possible layoffs in a January video. The system is attempting to cut $218 million in spending by the end of FY 2015.
