Hospitals add 17k jobs in July

Healthcare employment grew by 43,200 jobs in July, with hospitals contributing 17,100 of those, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' jobs report released Friday.

Ambulatory healthcare services contributed 18,900 jobs last month, and nursing and residential care facilities added 7,200 jobs.

In the last 12 months, healthcare has added 477,000 jobs, according to the BLS.

Overall, total employment in the U.S. grew by 255,000 jobs in July.
