As Florida hospitals deal with an increasing shortage of qualified job candidates and a growing patient population, they are offering signing bonuses and relocation reimbursements, according to a report from The News-Press.
Here are three things to know about the incentives being offered.
1. Fort Myers, Fla.-based Lee Memorial Health System is offering $10,000 signing bonuses for certain nurses who agree to begin working before March 31, as well as $10,000 in relocation payments for qualifying new hires living at least 50 miles away, according to the report. Lee Memorial workers may also receive $2,500 for referring certain successful nursing applicants to the system.
2. NCH Healthcare System in Naples, Fla., has offered signing bonuses of up to $20,000 for some nurses, Renee Thigpen, NCH's chief human resources officer, told The News-Press.
3. Orlando-based Florida Hospital is offering $10,000 signing bonuses and $5,000 in moving expenses for qualified nurses on its campuses, according to the report.
