Enloe Medical Center in Chico, Calif., approved a new labor deal with registered nurses.
The three-year contract will cover 960 Enloe nurses represented by the California Nurses Association.
It includes language "to help ensure safe, responsible 'floating'" of nurses, as well as workplace violence protections and an educational package for nurse professional development, according to the union. It also includes an across-the-board pay increase of 8.5 percent over three years, among other provisions.
Both sides had been in negotiations since November.
