Nurses at Butler (Pa.) Memorial Hospital ratified a new three-year contract with management March 30.
Here are four things to know about the agreement.
1. The nurses, represented by the Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses & Allied Professionals, voted overwhelmingly to ratify the new agreement, the union said.
2. Under the agreement, nurses will receive a 3 percent raise in each year of the contract. Nurses will also be eligible for additional experience-based raises.
3. Additionally, the new contract will create "resource nurse" positions to assist nurses giving direct care with time-consuming tasks, PASNAP said.
4. The new agreement was scheduled to take effect this month.
