Baton Rouge (La.) General has added 150 clinical positions at its Bluebonnet campus, as it has added two patient care floors at that location and expects to see increased patient volumes there.
The news comes more than a month after BRG announced it would close the emergency department at its Mid City campus. The Mid City ER is scheduled to close at 7 a.m. March 31.
BRG does not know how many employees will be impacted by the closing.
However, BRG Vice President for Human Resources & Development Paul C. Douglas said in a statement that BRG is "working to preserve as many jobs as possible either through transfer and reassignment opportunities within the system, or assistance with placement among other area employers." He said BRG continues to recruit nurses and other patient care staff as part of the expansion at our Bluebonnet campus.
