330 new jobs expected with new Bostick Nursing Center at Central State Hospital

The new Bostick Nursing Center at Central State Hospital in Milledgeville, Ga., is expected to offer 330 new jobs, according to a Union-Recorder report.

That's based on comments April 20 from Mike Couch, executive director of the Central State Hospital Local Redevelopment Authority. Mr. Couch said many of the new jobs will be filled by certified nursing assistants, according to the report.

Central Georgia Technical College has sponsored job fairs to find applicants for CNA positions at the new medical facility.

The new Bostick Nursing Center, which will offer a 280-bed geriatric care facility, will house elderly and infirm former state prisoners, the Union-Recorder reports.

The substantial completion date for the facility is slated for June.
