Steamboat Springs, Colo.-based Yampa Valley Medical Center and Aurora, Colo.-based University of Colorado Health are exploring a partnership to provide patients in the area with access to additional specialties and services.
The two organizations have entered the due diligence process, which officials expect to continue through the second quarter of 2017. If the agreement is finalized, YVMC will become part of UCHealth.
YVMC began the search for a potential partner in July 2016.
"We're excited to explore this partnership through a due diligence process with UCHealth as we look to improve access to and coordination of healthcare services," said YVMC CEO Frank May. "Together, our shared missions and visions of excellence in patient-centered, personalized care are well-aligned to meet the changing needs of patients by improving the health of individuals, our community and the value of healthcare."
Elizabeth Concordia, president and CEO of UCHealth, said, "UCHealth and YVMC have enjoyed nearly 20 years of strong collaboration, supporting each other and providing the very best care for our patients. Together, through this closer partnership, YVMC will strengthen its position as a destination for advanced care for patients throughout the region."
